Forest Service Releases Final Planning Rule for National Forest System Land Management

Today, the Under Secretary of Agriculture for Natural Resources and Environment signed the final planning rule for land management planning within the National Forest System. USDA and Forest Service staff carefully considered more than 300,000 public comments to develop the final planning rule.

The final planning rule and other informational materials are now available on the Forest Service Planning Rule website at http://www.fs.usda.gov/planningrule.

    It’s so great that NFS puts an effort into 155 national forests, 20 grasslands and 1 prairie. I hope they will develop their plans by the end of 2012.

    Haven tried the links on the planning rule website and none of them seem to open the Final Rule. I was able to open the FEIS. Can someone check this out?
